October: The Church Militant

The last Sundays of the Pentecost Season (October) focus on how the Christian Church is “militant,” that is, it is always in battle against Satan, the World and every kind of evil.

Our Sermon Series has focused on several threats including
1) “Liberation Theology” (a Marxist political philosphy disguised a Christianity focused on helping the poor);
2) Political Correctness (and the intimidation it “enforces” on Christians and the witness of the Church); and
3) Anti-Christian Religions such as Islam.

Of course, Reformation Sunday (celebrated on 10/31), is a reminder that God calls EVERY Christian to uphold the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of salvation by grace–not works–that He bought for us on the cross.
